"Report on the Digital Life of Chinese Citizens" Published by Digital Life Research Team at Renmin University of China
The Digital Life Research Team at Renmin University of China has officially released the Report on the Digital Life of Chinese Citizens (2025), published by Renmin University Press and led by Professor Jingping Li. This report provides a comprehensive look into the digital transformation of everyday life in China. Based on a large-scale survey conducted in 2022, it collected over 6,000 valid responses across 31 provinces, covering digital behaviors such as internet use, online shopping, digital payments, remote work, social interaction, entertainment, and digital public services.
The report develops a multi-dimensional Digital Life Index, offering both micro and macro-level insights into the degree and quality of digital engagement among Chinese citizens. It also analyzes regional differences, demographic patterns, and social implications of digital adoption. The findings aim to inform policy and support the government’s efforts in advancing inclusive digitalization as part of China’s national development goals.
