Uniting Statistics Youth, Inspiring Collective Progress: The First National Undergraduate Statistics Forum Successfully Held

On May 17, the inaugural National Undergraduate Statistics Forum was hosted by Renmin University's School of Statistics, creating an academic exchange platform for outstanding statistics undergraduates nationwide.

Shizheng Feng, RUC Vice President, emphasized statistics' pivotal role in the data era and encouraged students to become next-generation statistical talents. Yang Li, Dean of School of Statistics, acknowledged submissions from 30+ universities and highlighted the forum's mission to foster academic excellence.

Yishun Huang announced 37 award-winning papers selected through rigorous review. Distinguished guests including Bangchang Xie (the former Vice President of Fu Jen Catholic University), Zhenghui Li (Vice Dean of the School of Economics and Statistics, Guangzhou University), Ke Deng (Tenured Associate Professor of Statistics, Tsinghua University), Wei Lin (Director of the Statistics Teaching and Research Division, Peking University), and Jing Wan (Deputy Director of the Academic Affairs Office, RUC) presented awards.

Eleven students from top universities delivered presentations showcasing innovative statistical applications, followed by vibrant poster sessions that facilitated interdisciplinary exchanges. The forum successfully established itself as a premier platform for cultivating China's future statistical leaders.
