Doctoral Student Ma Yuheng Accepted into China Association for Science and Technology’s (CAST) Prestigious Young Talent Development Initiative
The China Association for Science and Technology (CAST) announced the inaugural cohort of its Young Talent Development Initiative for doctoral students, selecting 3,226 candidates nationwide for this prestigious two-year development program. Ma Yuheng, a doctoral student from the School of Statistics, was among the first group of recipients selected, with supported by the Chinese Association for Applied Statistics (CAAS).
Ma Yuheng, a 2021 doctoral candidate supervised by Professor Yang Hanfang, specializes in trustworthy machine learning research and has demonstrated exceptional academic achievement through first-author publications in leading journals including JMLR, ICML, and NeurIPS. His selection reflects both individual excellence and institutional strength, as evidenced by his receipt of multiple prestigious awards including the National Graduate Scholarship, the university's Outstanding Innovative Talent Development Support Program, and the "Zhong Jiaqing" Thesis Award. The program specifically targets advanced doctoral students under 30 years of age across STEM disciplines, providing comprehensive support through academic funding, organizational integration, and professional development opportunities to accelerate young researchers' career advancement and scholarly impact.
