From September 24 to 28, 2024, the School of Statistics at Renmin University of China successfully hosted the “Specialized Training Program on Statistical Services for High-Quality Development of Deyang City.” Led by Mr. Min Chen, Deputy Secretary-General of the Deyang Municipal Government and Director of the Deyang Bureau of Statistics, the program gathered around 50 government officials and statistical professionals.

The opening ceremony featured a keynote lecture by former Deputy Director-General of the National Bureau of Statistics, Mr. Youfeng Mao. Over the week, the program offered lectures by leading experts on topics such as big data, national economic accounting, and digital governance. In addition to academic sessions, participants engaged in field visits to tech and AI institutions such as Zhongke Brain.

The closing ceremony included reflections from participants and remarks by Mr. Min Chen. This marks the first collaboration between the Deyang Bureau of Statistics and the School of Statistics, laying a strong foundation for future cooperation in support of modernizing statistical governance.
